Instructor Bio

Scott Heydenfeldt has been involved with martial arts for over 35 years. Sensei (Teacher) Heydenfeldt has competed, demonstrated, and/or officiated at some of the most prestigious martial arts events. He was a successful competitor in kata (form), kumite (sparring), and kobudo (weapons) and holds a National Referee license with USA Karate. USA Karate is the governing body for karate within the US and is a member of the USOC (US Olympic Committee). He has trained hundreds of students of all ages and coached numerous competitors at all ability levels.

Mr. Heydenfeldt holds a B.S. in Business Management from California Polytechnic University Pomona, CA and was born and raised in Southern California. Prior to opening the dojo, Mr. Heydenfeldt worked in banking and securities brokerage.

Mr. Heydenfeldt is also a substitute school teacher and coach. In between teaching at the dojo, at after school karate programs, and summer youth sports, you will find him teaching various grade levels in the classroom throughout the school year.
